I utilised Inducta Software to
fully model a 5-storey building (1400 m2 per floor), perform a full earthquake spectral analysis,
review and redesign the stair core, lift core and 6 shear walls from top to bottom all within the space of
4 hours!
I was able to halve the reinforcement in all these walls, reduce wall thicknesses and reduce concrete grades
compared to the tabled design. I was even able to give a precast option for cost comparison. We were able to make enough
savings to keep our client on budget. Not only were they impressed with our savings, they were impressed at the speed
of our response.

Inducta Software are the most
user-friendly analysis packages that I have come across in my 11 years in the field of engineering;
the interface is practical, and the 3D viewing tools and interactive stress diagrams
increase the speed significantly so that one can develop an understanding of how
a building is performing.
Through the use of Inducta Software my knowledge of how
buildings transfer forces and the effect that the stiffness of elements has on that transfer has

reinforcement 3.5 kg/m2. We have designed more than 100 slabs with great results:
- 25-30 jobs from 3 storey to 20 storeys
- some jobs around 20,000 m2
- including 1,000 m2 raft slab
